For more than thirty years St Clement’s has been stewarded during the summer months to welcome visitors and help them explore our ancient church.
‘Church Welcome’, starts on 1st May through to 30th September. The church is of course open to all throughout the year , but from May to September Welcomers choose an hour (or two) that is convenient for them to steward each week.
It is a very rewarding way of spending a quiet hour and welcoming people from literally all over the world (please check the visitors’ book!). New ‘Welcomers’ would be warmly received, you do not have to be a member of the congregation to carry out this role. If a new volunteer would like to know more about the church and its history I would be very happy to give them an informal tour.
